Recent introductions from Pandora showcase this semi-precious mineral.  Carnelian (July’s Birthstone) is a color named after the carnelian variety of the mineral chalcedony, which is orange to orange-red in color.  Chalcedony comes from the name of the ancient town of Chalcedon, in Bithynia, Asia Minor, in modern-day Istanbul.
